Waiswa Samuel is the Team Leader, Programmes of BRUCI. He is a results-driven agriculture, environment, social justice and rural development professional with over 10 years of experience. As Team Lead – Programmes, he provides strategic leadership in designing and implementing high-impact agricultural initiatives that enhance productivity, income generation, and resilience among smallholder farmers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses. Samuel brings deep expertise in agronomy, certification and traceability systems, and the promotion of climate-smart and regenerative agriculture. He has successfully championed gender mainstreaming, youth engagement, and Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) models to strengthen community-based economic empowerment across diverse agro-ecological zones. He is highly skilled in facilitating market linkages, fostering partnerships among farmers, input and service providers, buyers, and financial institutions, and supporting the development of inclusive agricultural value chains, climate smart systems and environment protection. His leadership has consistently delivered transformative results—building the capacity of rural communities, improving access to finance and services, and advancing sustainable livelihoods and food security.

Having accumulated vast knowledge about the civil society and humanitarian sector, Monica now uses that experience to provide value to BRUCI and its partners.
